Each October and November, I offer outdoor fall family specials across Washington, DC area. Each year we return to favorite locations and add a few new ones, chosen for beautiful light and variety of areas to photograph.

These sessions are designed to be efficient yet relaxed, and enjoyable. 15 minutes seems fast but I have been doing this for many years and it plenty of time to create a beautiful gallery fro your family. We’ll photograph the whole family, the children together and do solo children’s portrait plus any other groupings you would like (each parent with kids, etc.)

Children really enjoy these sessions because the locations allow them to play and run around and my photography style doesn’t require them to be still and posing too much. I’m a very patient and calm person, and it seems to put the kids at ease in the process too. It’s really fun seeing kids come back each year – and they know all the posing tricks!

NOTE: I am not generally offering the earlier sessions times as I found the light was too harsh. If you really need an earlier time please reach out and I’m happy to accomodate.

Locations:

Last year many locations stayed green for along time so I’ve adjusted the early locations this year. Still, many locations won’t have strong fall colors until late-October. If it stays warm later into October and there are still leaves on the trees, I may add a couple more dates. Sessions can be moved by request at no charge (some restrictions apply if done with short notice).

FAQ

  • Can grandparents join the session? Yes! The session includes immediate family & grandparents (or an aunt/uncle). For more extended family, please book back-to-back time slots. Contact the studio if none are available.
  • What should I wear? After booking you will receive a session prep guide including tips on what to wear. Check out my Pinterest page for inspiration, feel free to send me photos of clothing you’re considering.
  • Can we bring our dog(s)? Yes! đŸ¶ I love having dog(s) join in family photos! Please check with us to make sure dogs are allowed at the location. We recommend arriving early to let them (and the kids!) expend some energy before the session.
  • What happens if there is bad weather? ☔ Sessions will take place unless weather conditions prevent photography. If rescheduling is necessary, multiple options will be provided to ensure optimal conditions. If you choose not to do an alternate date the full session credit remains for you to use another time.
  • When will I get my images? Your private online gallery will be available within two weeks, featuring retouched images ready for selection and download.
  • How much are additional images? Additional images are $20-30 each, depending on the quantity (more is less per images). 🎉 Take advantage of the early bird offer for additional photos and products within the first two days of gallery delivery.
  • Do you sell cards, prints, and artwork? Yes. Explore our range of prints, wall art, gifts, and custom press-printed cards—all available through your online gallery. We also have a high end lab online card designer with envelope addressing, just like Minted and others.
