As a newborn photographer, creating beautiful images is only part of my job. The most important responsibility I have during every session is ensuring that your baby is safe, comfortable, and cared for at all times.
That’s why I’m committed to continually investing in education and training. Recently, I completed the Newborn Photography Safety Program developed with the support of internationally recognized newborn educator Kelly Brown. The program covers newborn handling, posing safety, studio hygiene, temperature control, client communication, risk management, and industry best practices for working with newborns. The goal is simple: to help photographers create beautiful images while prioritizing the well-being of every baby in their care.
Safety education isn’t something I consider a one-time achievement. The newborn photography industry is constantly evolving, and I believe it’s important to stay current with best practices and continue learning from experienced educators.
Because I understand how important safety is when working with newborns and young children, I also obtained my Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification last year. While I hope I never need to use those skills during a session, having that training gives me additional confidence and preparedness when working with the tiniest members of your family.
When you bring your baby to my studio, every pose is guided by safety first. If a baby is uncomfortable, unsettled, or not ready for a particular pose, we simply move on. No image is ever more important than a baby’s safety and comfort.
As both a photographer and a parent, I know how much trust families place in the person handling their newborn. I’m incredibly grateful for that trust, and I take it seriously. My commitment is to provide not only timeless images you’ll treasure forever but also a safe, calm, and enjoyable experience for your family.
